It roared and Rathian flew. Scared, the hunter's shakalaka jumped onto its back and attacked. The beast shivered and knocked the shakalaka off. He aimed at the hunters and blasted all of the elements at the hunters.

Spore was a financial failure and Maxis no longer exists. There will not be a Spore 2 unless EA resurrects it as a Pay2Play mobile game. You're better off looking for alternatives. It's a sad truth, although I read an article recently that some of Spore's producers were creating another spore-like game, although without the evolution system and cartoony graphics. They intend to make it more of a world simulator. I was always upset with Spore's failure since it encapsulated my favorite video game interests: open world, evolution, survival, massive game universe, etc. I had never had more fun with a video game when I was younger, and it was especially fun to sit down with friends and create ridiculous creatures.

Unfortunately EA dumbed down what the game could have been extraodinarily, as everything from the physics (originally having only two back legs and a massive chest would cause the creature to stumble on its own weight) to the actual content (they had planned to have subterrainean, oceanic, and full flight mechanisms available in the creature stage). Some of this might be chocked up to over-ambition on the creator's parts, or perhaps EA decided it had poured enough money into the project and decided to cut losses and release it 'unfinished', but whatever the cause Spore did not live up to its potential, although it still makes for a great game given its age. I'm really hoping for an evolutionary survival game that can match what Spore could have been in the future, but until then. This is all we've got. None of the 'alternatives' even remotely approach what makes Spore fun, which was its ability to get me fascinated in biological processes and the massive scope of the universe with all its diversity at a young age. Great game suggestions which really makes me realize how much competition there is when it comes to Evolution survival games, but really, spore had it spot on.
I feel the game just needs more emmersion like more custom stuff, more complex relationships and extinction or random events that would thrust your civilization into chaos, otherwise the graphics were great for the time and I had lots of fun making multiple persistent races and connecting them through trade and diplomacy. Im a huge fan of M&Band Rust at the moment so maybe you see where this is going.
